2. Counseling Services

Crazy people do not attend counseling, people who have been through crazy things attend counseling. When dealing with anxiety, grief, eating disorders, relationship or family crises, depression, self-esteem issues, stress, anger, work issues, and other life challenges, therapy can help you navigate these complexities. Counseling provides perspective and helps you find healthy coping strategies. Your investment in the process can lead to healing, as part of healing involves applying what you learn in therapy. Your therapist will help you set intentions, offer helpful strategies for living, identify obstacles to your progress, and guide you toward recovery. Regardless of what brings you to counseling, therapy aims to help you live a life with positive outcomes and renewed hope.

We welcome anyone carrying the weight of life’s challenges, especially those on the path to sobriety, single mothers, teens in transition, men seeking emotional clarity, first responders facing burnout, and individuals struggling with identity and purpose.

Working with a counselor can offer numerous benefits, including:

  • Increased clarity and understanding of yourself, your goals, and your values

  • Learning to tackle your inner critic and move towards more compassionate self-talk

  • Developing positive strategies and skills for improving relationships

  • Finding resolutions to unresolved issues and freeing yourself from past baggage

  • Overcoming obstacles like fear, perfectionism, procrastination, and self-sabotage

  • Learning techniques to cope with stress and achieve better life balance

  • Managing intense emotions such as grief, anger, depression, or anxiety

  • Improving connection through better listening and communication skills

  • Changing negative, addictive, and destructive behavior patterns

  • Acquiring effective problem-solving tools that benefit your family or marriage

  • Enhancing your sense of worth, courage, and self-confidence

Long-term solutions to mental and emotional struggles cannot be managed by medication alone. While medications often treat symptoms, therapy addresses the root cause of distress and its impact on your life. Therapy assists in achieving wellness and healthy living holistically.

All sessions are 50 minutes long. The length of the session is primarily based on the client’s needs and can be decided with your therapist after your initial visit.

The frequency of visits is based on your unique needs, the impact of your concerns on your life, and your desire for healing and wellness. During your first few visits, a care plan will be established with your input. This plan will outline your goals and intentions and set benchmarks for your desired outcomes. We recommend weekly appointments for new clients to establish a positive therapeutic relationship and create your treatment plan. As you meet your benchmarks, you and your therapist will evaluate your progress and adjust the frequency of your appointments.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes early with a photo ID, insurance card, and payment method. If the session is for a minor child due to divorce or separation, bring any custody paperwork. You will also need to complete the intake forms via our Client Portal if you have not already done so. Your initial session will last up to 50 minutes, during which your therapist will ask you to describe your concerns and what you hope to gain from counseling. This session is an opportunity to work on a care plan, and your therapist will provide recommendations for your next visit.

The intake process is vital to the formation of any counseling relationship. The intake form helps both the counselor and the client obtain a clear focus on past and present concerns and informs the counselor about the direction to take in the counseling process.

Most insurance companies offer mental health benefits. Please contact your insurance company’s customer service line to inquire about your benefits and reimbursement. Our office will also check your insurance benefits. If insurance does not cover the contracted rate for services, any remaining balance is the patient’s responsibility. Some insurance may not cover certain services, such as marriage or family counseling, so payment upfront may be required.

You may continue receiving therapy as a private pay client.

If you pay out of pocket, no one will know but you and your therapist. If you use insurance, it will be reflected in your medical history that you’ve seen a therapist.

If you know someone who is struggling, we encourage you to share our information with them. You can provide them with our phone number, 980-285-3689, or direct them to our website.
